2018 was the beginning, however 2019 was more daring than ever before for This Is Tomorrow.
Headliners: Foals, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Stereophonics
Other Artists: You Me At Six, Nothing But Thieves, The Vaccines, Johnny Marr, Lewis Capaldi, Editors, Ride, Glasvegas, Embrace
After the critical success of 2018, the festival extended to become a 3 day event, hosted over the Spring Bank Holiday on Friday 24th May, Saturday 25th May and Sunday 26th May, and moved home to Exhibition Park, just on the edge of Newcastle city centre. A new home, big plans, expanded capacity, and more opportunity, and an even bigger line up than ever before.
In a major coup for the North East, Foals led the charge as headliners on the Friday evening, joined by Surrey rockers You Me At Six and Essex fivesome Nothing But Thieves, with a host of new and upcoming artists across the day including Anteros, Bad Sounds, The Pale White and many more.
The next day, former Oasis star Noel Gallagher headlined the festival with his High Flying Birds band, delivering an array of classic songs from his career. He was joined by the ever energetic The Vaccines, Editors, Ride, Glasvegas and many more across the day.
Welsh rock royalty Stereophonics wrapped up the weekend, headlining the Sunday, delivering their back catalogue classics. Support came from former The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, Brit Award winner and upcoming artist Lewis Capaldi, Yorkshire rockers Embrace and many more.
Completely maxed to capacity across all 3 days, over 35,000 people attended over the weekend in Newcastle, and received stonking reviews and praise for the line-up and overall experience. We can’t wait to bring you This Is Tomorrow 2020!
